At 226 Causeway St., the café is located between the historic North End and the TD Garden, home of the reigning NBA champions - the Boston Celtics. A street-level storefront, the building houses many businesses and organizations in the floors above.

Cafés are one of a number of ways we hope to engage consumers more directly in the years ahead. Here on Causeway Street, we will be able to showcase the fruits of the enormous effort our farmer partners invest in growing the highest quality coffee, tea and chocolate. We hope from time-to-time to have special presentations from farmers as well as "cuppings" led by our roasting and quality control staff.

To supplement our directly sourced products and milk from local family dairy farmers, we will be supporting local independent businesses to provide fresh pastries and healthy light lunch offerings.

See photos from our Grand Opening Extravaganza

We sent our photos from our Grand Opening to our producer partners and other friends of Equal Exchange. Here's what a few of them had to say...

From Carlos Murillo (former General Manager of CooCafe, Costa Rica, currently a consultant to the FT coffee co-ops):
"I'm thrilled that EE continues harvesting successes; this will be of huge benefit to the small coffee producers. I congratulate you for this new success and I wish you more."
From Arnaldo Neira Camizan (Founding member, and former President, Cepicafe, Peru):
"We send many congratulations to our friends at Equal Exchange for the inauguration of your Boston café. We wish you a successful start so that later we can celebrate, proudly alongside of you, the opening of many additional cafes: because ultimately, your accomplishments and pride are also our accomplishments and pride."
From Jose Rojas (General Manager of Cepicafe, Peru):
"Congratulations to everyone at EE for this huge accomplishment which will give us a better positioning of our product and further strengthen our organizations."
