61 Beans Coffee-of-the-Month
The June 61 Beans selection, El Cashal, comes from the Las Colinas co-operative in Tacuba, El Salvador. Las Colinas is located on a 130-hectare farm that is divided into “bloques,” collectively managed by members. El Cashal is one of these bloques where Bourbon and Paca varieties of Arabica coffee are cultivated. This coffee offers thick and rich chocolate flavor that is reminiscent of sweet Thompson’s raisins with a very creamy and smooth mouthfeel. This lot of coffee deserves the spotlight this month for its exemplary flavor and the water conservation efforts Las Colinas is taking to process their coffee.

Eat A Puffin, Save A Puffin
Every Saturday morning we show classic cartoons at Equal Exchange Café! Along with the cartoons, enjoy a bottomless bowl of cereal for just $3. The current choices are Honey Nut Cheerios and Peanut Butter Puffins. We're hoping that you'll eat enough cereal so that we can adopt our own puffin in Maine! Seriously! Read more information about saving these birds. And check us out on Facebook for more cartoon details. |
