Fight the Winter Blues with Coffee, Culture and Equal Exchange Café

Get Poetic
Thursday, Feb. 4, 6-8 p.m.

Join us for Equal Exchange's first-ever literary poetry reading on Feb. 4, 2010, featuring local graduate students and MFA candidates, as well as some of Equal Exchange Café's regular customers. Readings will be followed by an open mic, giving anyone in the audience the chance to read their works of poetry. Come for coffee and pastries and stay to hear some of Boston's up-and-coming literary talent.

An Illustrative Art Opening
Tuesday, Feb. 9, 5 p.m.

Equal Exchange Café is hosting an art opening for local illustrator, Diana Lisanto, with illustrated pieces for Lisanto's upcoming children's alphabet book. These humorous and colorful acrylic paintings of letters will be displayed at the Equal Exchange Café from February 6 through the end of March. Stop by to check out her work, meet the artist, and enjoy free coffee, tea and snacks.

61 Beans Coffee of the Month 61 Beans: February Coffee-of-the-Month
Our February coffee, Flor de Canchaque, is a Dark Medium Roast from the small farmers of CEPICAFE in Peru. The beauty found in the flavor of this coffee mirrors the delicate roses grown by many of our producer partners in the Canchaque area. Enjoy the brown sugar and mild milk chocolate aroma followed by the floral and sweet dried grape flavor that will remind you of your favorite box of raisins.
Have an Upcoming Meeting or Event?
Why not have Equal Exchange Café cater it! With advanced notice, we are happy to prepare platters of pastries from Iggy’s and Petsi Pies, sandwiches from The Biscuit, and fresh rolls from Indochine, as well as boxes of coffee to serve 12-14 people. Stop by the café to check out our catering menu.
Share the Love with Equal Exchange Organic Dark Chocolate
Organic Dark Chocolate Minis for Valentines DayThis Valentine's Day, share the love with Equal Exchange's fairly traded Organic Dark Chocolate Minis. These deliciously rich, bite-sized chocolates are crafted using the best quality organic cacao (cocoa beans) from small-scale farmer co-operatives in the Dominican Republic and Peru. Despite their small size, these minis have big impact. By choosing Equal Exchange fairly traded chocolate, you help provide small-scale farmers the resources and opportunities they need to build a better future for their families and communities. Now that's a chocolate you can love with all your heart.

In addition to the chocolates, don't forget about the sensuous body oils available at the Equal Exchange Café, from our friends at Co-op 108.
